Africa-Press – Angola. Over three thousand vulnerable families, in Cuanza Norte, are benefiting from direct support within the framework of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP), informed the deputy governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Luzia Bartolomeu .
The actions, implemented by the municipal administrations, are limited to professional training, female empowerment, social promotion, support with professional, agricultural and fishing kits.
The program also includes the promotion of tourism, primary health care, education, culture and sport.
The official provided this information, this Thursday, regarding the two-day visit of the Minister of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, to assess the impact of the PIDLCP on the communities.
Luzia Bartolomeu informed that in 2022, 12 projects were approved for the province, in the agriculture, water, livestock, fishing and engineering sectors.
Despite these structuring actions, he said, there is a need to create conditions for improving the provision of basic services to the population, conditioned by financial constraints.
He considered that the socio-economic situation of the province calls for urgent short-term measures, since the majority of the population continues to have limited access to basic services, despite the improvement in the last decade.
