Africa-Press – Angola. The company that promotes shows AF Entretenimento will organize the 2023 edition of the Sumbe International Music Festival (FestiSumbe), to be held in May, in reference to the municipality’s anniversary.
To this end, the Municipal Administration of Sumbe and AF Entretenimento Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding for the production of the show, which annually attracts thousands of people and dozens of artists, both national and foreign.
Speaking to the press, the municipal administrator of Sumbe, António Wenga Franco, highlighted FestiSumbe in promoting music and national culture, as well as trade and tourism in the region.
“FestiSumbe is a brand. The municipal administration is responsible for organizing the event, so there was a need to sign a contract with this company, which has experience in the market”, he stressed.
He recalled that, starting this year, FestiSumbe will be held in reference to the anniversary of the municipality (May 28), unlike previous years in which the event was organized as part of the festivities of the day of the province of Cuanza Sul (September 15 ).
On the occasion, the director general of AF Entretenimento, Adão Felipe, welcomed the company’s choice to organize FestiSumbe, edition 2023.
“We want to thank you for the opportunity offered to us to promote Sumbe’s biggest music festival. AF Entretenimento promotes culture, so we accept the challenge”, he stressed.
In turn, the provincial director of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Francisco Ventura, exhorted the company AF Entretenimento to work responsibly for the success of the event.
“We appeal to the contracted company to work responsibly. FestiSumbe is an event that promotes artists and local music, as well as offering entertainment and joy to the population. We also ask for the support of businessmen so that the event is carried out successfully”, he added.
