Recapitalizations of public companies consume Kz 422.1 billion

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Government recapitalized, in 2022, 47 companies of the Public Business Sector (SEP), with values ​​of 422.1 billion kwanzas, an increase of 254 billion kwanzas compared to the same period last year.

These are companies in the water and sanitation, transport, information and communication sectors, financial institutions, electricity, education, mining and commerce.

If compared to the recapitalizations made in 2021, the amount almost tripled, since in that financial year the slice was 168.1 billion kwanzas made available, according to the Aggregate Report of the SEP, 2022, published this Friday by Institute for the Management of Assets and State Participation (IGAPE).

Even if compared to 2020, the values ​​for 2022 are above the 206.3 billion kwanzas of that year.

The list of companies that benefited from recapitalizations includes Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC) with 80.41 billion kwanzas, Empreposto Aduaneiro de Angola (EAA), with 40.83 billion kwanzas, TAAG-Linhas Aéreas of Angola with 39.11 billion kwanzas, the National Electricity Company (ENDE) with 29.16 billion kwanzas.

The list also includes the National Water Company, with 27.39 billion kwanzas, the National Transport Network (RNT), media companies, maritime and land transport, telecommunications, among others.

In 2022, the universe of the SEP was 92 companies, of which 16 in the public domain, 55 public and 71 companies.
