Africa-Press – Angola. The remains of the Angolan journalist Carlos Calongo Adão, who died on July 6 in Lisbon, victim of illness, will be transferred to Luanda, Angola, on Thursday.

A funeral mass was held on Wednesday in Lisbon at the Church of São Domingos de Benfica, where the qualities of this media professional were praised.

Carlos Calongo was described as a defender of the rights of media professionals and a man dedicated to the development of Angola.

He was a professional staff member at the National Radio of Angola and was a respected figure in national journalism, having contributed crucially to the training of new professionals.

Throughout his career, he served in the Information and Propaganda Department of MPLA Central Committee, as well as a university teacher.

Family members, friends, members of the Angolan community, and members of the Angolan Embassy in Portugal, attended the ceremony.
