Africa-Press – Angola. At least 25 families in the neighbourhoods of Quifucussa Mbanza, Munana and Quitex in the commune of Mufuma, municipality of Kiwaba Nzoji, Province of Malanje, are now benefiting from drinking water following the inauguration of a small water collection, treatment and supply system.

With a capacity to pump 3,000 cubic metres of water per hour, the system has household connections and fountains.

At the inauguration of the equipment, which was part of the celebrations of the Day of the Martyrs of Baixa de Cassanje, marked this Sunday (4), the municipal administrator of Kiwaba Nzoji, José Neves, said that the gesture marks the beginning of a year in which the municipality intends to strengthen investment in the social sector, making the improvement of basic living conditions a priority.

“This is a clear sign that, in 2026, the social sector will receive special attention and will be at the centre of our government’s priorities. We want to ensure that every citizen has access to quality basic services, starting with drinking water”, he said.

He also stressed that investment in social infrastructure is essential to improve the living conditions of communities and strengthen the population’s confidence in the work of local authorities.

Meanwhile, some residents of Quifucussa Mbanza expressed their happiness with the infrastructure and acknowledged the government’s efforts to respond to the most pressing needs of the community.

With the new system mentioned, residents felt that this will change their lives and those of their families, noting also that it is an achievement for everyone and, with this, they emphasised that the government is working to resolve the difficulties faced by the population.
