Africa-Press – Angola. The volume of taxes, at the level of the province of Cuanza-Norte, reached more than 5.8 billion kwanzas last year, 546 million less compared to the year 2020, in which the Provincial Delegation of Finance had accounted for above 6, 3 billion kwanzas.

In 2021, three existing Tax Offices contributed to this indicator, with the Office of the Municipality of Cazengo, at the provincial headquarters N’dalatando, topping the list, with more than 3.4 billion kwanzas collected (58.82 percent) . The one in the municipality of Cambambe raised more than 1.2 billion kwanzas (22.33 percent) and that of Ambaca more than 1.09 billion (18.85 percent).

It should be noted that the taxes that contributed most to the collection were on Income (IRT), with around 2.5 billion kwanzas, on Profits from Economic Activities (ILAE), with 1.3 billion, on Heritage (IP), with more than 392 million and on Value Added (VAT), with more than 966 million.

Contributed for the same purpose, Consumption Tax, with more than 12 million kwanzas, Tax on Exports and Imports, more than 11 million, Stamp Duty, 94 million and revenue from various services, with more than 28 million, in addition to of other important revenues that added up to over 410 million kwanzas.

Contributions in Cuanza-Norte were also supported by other tax references, such as the Income from Self-Employed or Third-Party Work, on Investment of Capital, Industrial, Urban Property, on Consumption of Miscellaneous Products, Telecommunications Services, Hotel and Similar Services, as well as Water and Electricity Consumption.

Other tax revenues, such as the Motor Vehicle Traffic Tax, Tax Costs and Executions, Fees and Miscellaneous Fees, Commercial, Registry and Notary Services, Community Services, as well as tax fines, also contributed to the revenues collected. It should be noted that the values presented are below the real figure, due to taxpayers evading the payment of taxes.

The evolution of taxes is justified by the macroeconomic environment of the province, which has stimulated economic agents to invest in the region, in the case of companies that provide services to Provincial Government bodies and Municipal Administrations, which, after being registered, successively pay their taxes.
