Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor of Luanda, Manuel Gonçalves, said this Tuesday that the program for revitalizing and modernizing the cultural facilities at the Dr. Agostinho Neto, in the Operário neighborhood, in Luanda, will promote research, tourism and national culture.

The official, who was speaking at the conference on the Project Center for Studies on Angolan Nationalism, explained that the commitment is aimed at valuing and preserving the collective memory of Angolans and helping in research studies of national history, to serve future generations.

He informed that investigation and research are the center’s primary actions, which is why he considered it fundamental to make the space a true place of research, tourist and cultural promotion.

For this, he said that the challenge involves reorienting institutional support actions to fulfill the purpose of its creation, mobilizing all efforts and sectors so that they can lend their support and sponsorship.

“The scope of this project that started is an element of great importance due to the impact on social action, full formalization and resocialization of citizens, as contributors to development and common well-being”, he said.

Manuel Gonçalves recognized the technical, material and financial difficulties of the Agostinho Neto Centre.
