As you know, we have been working since the early hours of today on a ‘Tripartite’ between Angola, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, in order to find the necessary understanding between these two neighboring and sister countries. Therefore, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Rwanda.
I am pleased to announce that we have had positive results, in our view, in that we have agreed a ceasefire, among other measures that appear in the 《roadmap 》that has just been presented, among which we decided to create a mechanism for Ad Hoc observation, in addition to the one existing at the level of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region.
Therefore, the creation of an Ad Hoc mechanism, which will be headed by an Angolan general officer. Furthermore, we would like to highlight the fact that we have agreed to hold a meeting of the Joint Commission between the two countries – which met for the last time a long time ago in the city of Kigali – and which should meet when the environment is favorable for such, in the city of Kinshasa.
But we understand that, as a way of restoring the lost trust between the two countries, this first meeting of the Joint Commission between the DRC and Rwanda will take place here, in the city of Luanda, next Tuesday, July 12th.
So there was a perfect understanding between us, between the three Heads of State, which led to the results that I have just announced.
