Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participates, since Wednesday, in the Regional Consultative Workshop for the Development of the Communication, Awareness and Visibility Strategy of SADC for the period 2020-2023, which takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
At the meeting, which ends on Thursday, each member country of the organization seeks, among other points, to evaluate the strategies used to communicate SADC’s actions and projects.
They will also publicize their brand, reinforce and define new communication, awareness and visibility strategies and mechanisms, capable of helping to make the SADC brand more and better known, as well as promoting and valuing the actions, projects and programs developed by the organisation.
Speaking at the opening of the Workshop, the Head of the Division of Communication and Visibility of SADC, Barbara Lopi, said that the communication strategies, techniques and tactics to be adopted by the community must take into account that 70% of the citizens of the member countries are young and, as is known, they have very specific characteristics in terms of consumption behavior, social involvement, as well as information sharing.
“We also need to reach citizens who live in areas of difficult access and sharpen the innovative spirit in how we should work to reach all SADC audiences”, said the official.
He recalled that Angola should assume, in August, the rotating presidency of SADC and, for this reason, it is committed to finalizing the communication and visibility policy of the organization for the year 2023-2024, which should be aligned with the strategy of communication, awareness and visibility of SADC for the period 2020 – 2030.
At the meeting, Angola was represented by the National Director of Institutional Information and Communication, João Demba, and by a technician from the National Directorate of Institutional Information and Communication, Agilio Gomes.
