Africa-Press – Angola. The board member of the Sagrada Esperança sports group, José Rosa, promised this Wednesday to challenge the club’s General Assembly, scheduled for the 30th of this month, for alleged irregularities.
In a press conference, José Rosa, removed from his position as vice-president of Sagrada Esperança at the end of 2023, for unknown reasons, considers the call for the assembly, where the new management bodies will be elected, to be “irregular”, for “trampling the club’s statutes , current legislation, especially the law on sports associations and clubs”.
“I am actually a member of the club’s board, but strangely, I learned yesterday that an assembly was called for March 30th, without the creation of the electoral commission, the opening of candidacies and a set of criteria that must be respected, for I consider this to be a call that violates statutory standards and is a major error of error,” he stressed.
He highlighted that the non-opening of the candidacy process, from an electoral perspective without the specifications and the fact that “the secretary of the board of the general assembly wrongly spoke as if it were an electoral commission”, requires the taking of competent measures , based on current legislation, so that there is an effective challenge to the act”.
“As far as I know, there has never been a management meeting to address these issues, which are the subject of this conference, so I ask that we take into account what happened with the Boxing Federation, which forced the intervention of the competent bodies and is That’s what we’re going to do if the irregularities are not corrected”, he highlighted.
He stated that he is not interested in the club’s seat, but defends the possibility of other people applying, “because Sagrada Esperança is not owned by anyone, it is an associative body that has plurality and that must be respected, its management must be open, transparent, honest.”
“Another aspect that concerns me, and this should be done before the elections are called, is the failure to hold an accountability meeting, because since this management took over management of the club, in 2020, it has never provided public accounts and I I have always defended this, even when I was vice president”, he highlighted.
So far, the club’s management, still led by José Muacabalo, the only candidate for his own succession, has not reacted to José Rosa’s accusations.
