Africa-Press – Angola. In order to adjust the team’s profile, in view of the objectives of the next football season (2025/26), which is to win the Girabola and the Angola Cup again, the management of Sagrada Esperança will renew the main squad by around 60 percent, with players coming and going.

The announcement was made, Tuesday, in Dundo, by the club’s president, José Muacabalo, during a press conference that served to take stock of the last season (2024/25) and look ahead to the next (2025/26).

He reported that the club has so far released defenders Lulas, Nandinho, Muenho, Dieu and Luís Tati, midfielders Água-Doce, Edy, Beni Papel and Cachi, as well as goalkeeper Leonardo and forward Mussá, due to the end of their contracts.

He clarified that the process is being led by Onaindia Gustavo, the new coach of the Lunda club.

Announced the hiring of Ramiro Paulo “Ramires” (Former Recreativo do Libolo), Silva Antônio and Paulo Rita “Pio” (Former São Salvador), Eduardo Henrique “Didi Craque” (Former Isaac de Benguela), for two seasons, as well as Francisco Da Rosa “Francis” (Former Bravo do Maquis), for one season.

The list of reinforcements includes central defender Basílio Daniel (ex-Serpa de Portugal), adding that the board is negotiating with a Brazilian forward and closing the signing of a Colombian.

On the other hand, he said that one of the challenges of the next season will be the construction of a training ground to relieve pressure on the Sagrada Esperança Stadium, as well as the rehabilitation of the tennis courts, three in this case, and investing in the training and popularization of women’s football.

In the last season, 2024/25, won by Petro de Luanda, the Lundas finished the National Football Championship of the First Division “Girabola”, in fourth place, with 49 points.

Next season, Sagrada will be involved in the Girabola and the Angola Cup.
