Africa-Press – Angola. With a goal from Armando in the 10th minute, Santa Rita de Cássia secured, on Sunday, their first victory in the second division football championship, overcoming Estrela Património Sport Clube do Zaire, 1-0, in the 4th round.
The match, held at the Estádio Nacional Vici António, was attended by more than a thousand spectators and was marked by balance, despite the initial dominance of the home team.
The decisive goal came from a well-constructed play on the left flank, with Armando heading the ball into the back of the net, setting the final result.
Santa Rita took control of the game from the first minutes, exploiting the flanks, with Ary Chato and Natã creating important movements on the wings.
The visiting team tried to react, but found it difficult to finish their plays, allowing the home team to manage the 1-0 score until the final whistle.
Santa Rita came close to extending their lead, with Armando and Natã wasting good opportunities, including a free-kick that hit the post.
With this result, Santa Rita now has 6 points and climbs to 4th place in the standings, reinforcing their aspirations for promotion to the Unitel League Girabola 2026/27, while, Estrela do Zaire remains with 3 points, occupying the 7th position.
In the 5th round, Santa Rita de Cássia FC faces Atlético Sport Aviação, in a game that promises to be decisive for maintaining the team’s good campaign in Zone A.
