Africa-Press – Angola. The markets and squares of Luanda, with the standard of “informality”, presented, in the fourth week of April, the best opportunities to purchase basic food products, with a price variation of 1.42 percent, compared to those practiced in the third week of last month.

In “informal” commercial activity, there was a price reduction in almost all markets, with emphasis on Kwanzas, in the order of 2.42 percent, Kikolo (2.29%) and Kilómetro Trinta (1.90% ), although the Asa Branca Market was the only one to show a slight increase in prices, of 0.81 percent.

The prices of basic food products in the “informal” markets, from the third to the fourth week of April, fell by 1.42 percent and the products that greatly contributed to this reduction were sugar, with 8.84%, regular rice , with 7.99%, and chicken thigh, with 4.91%.

In general terms, the price variation of basic basket products, from the third to the fourth week of April, registered a notable reduction of 0.02 percent.

Several products had a price increase, but the most notable were the kilogram of beans, which rose 9.32 percent, beef (2.94%) and bombó fuba (1.76%). On the other hand, there was a price reduction in products such as tomatoes (2.79 percent), yellow cornmeal (2.60%) and spaghetti pasta (1.92%).

The largest price changes in the period under analysis were registered in the supermarket chains Casa dos Frescos, with 7.66 percent, Fresmart, with 5.84%, and Kibabo, with 5.21%. Likewise, prices fell by 2.22 percent at Kero, at Maxi (1.83%) and Alimenta Angola (1.75%).
