Africa-Press – Angola. The coach of 1o de Maio de Benguela, Silvestre Pelé, expressed satisfaction with the 1-0 victory against Luanda City in the 8th round of the National First Division Championship, but lamented his team’s performance.
In an interview after the match, the coach considered the triumph “deserved,” despite the difficulties imposed by the opponent, but lamented his team’s performance, stating that there are still many aspects to work on.
“It was a difficult game. We faced a tactically well-organized team that made our actions quite difficult,” he said.
Silvestre Pelé acknowledged the technical competence of the opposing team and admitted that he expected a demanding challenge.
“We knew the difficulties we would face, but we didn’t stop imposing our game. We created numerous opportunities and won deservedly. Even so, we have a lot of work ahead of us,” he added.
The coach guaranteed that the team will continue to work to get out of the current situation, considered “less comfortable” in the league table.
For his part, Luanda City’s coach, Paulo Saraiva, considered the refereeing of the game a disgrace. “Those who should be in charge and enforce the law are turning things upside down. We had to obey,” he lamented.
The coach drew attention to the need to improve Angolan refereeing.
“It’s not necessary to win a game this way. I’ve never seen such bad refereeing as today’s, because winning isn’t everything; you should win honestly,” he complained.
With this result, 1o de Maio has eight points and Luanda City remains with the same number of points.
