Africa-Press – Angola. As part of its social responsibility and to strengthen relations with Angola, the Swiss Business Council provided on Friday a total of 14 million kwanzas in funding to the Escola do Meu Bairro (EMBO) project.

The check was presented during the second charity gala of the Swiss Business Council (SBC), which brought together Angolan and Swiss businesspeople for a dinner enlivened by musician Dom Kikas.

Speaking to the press, the president of the SBC, Carlos Magalhães, informed that the amount donated to the institution will help children to study and eat.

According to the official, the initiative symbolizes the SBC’s commitment to promoting concrete actions with social impact, reinforcing the importance of cooperation between business institutions and the community.

He noted that the monetary contributions will help the EMBO project purchase land to better accommodate the children, promising to continue supporting other foster care centers and more.

The EMBO project was created in 2016 in the popular neighborhood of Luanda. This marked the beginning of identifying illiterate children, adolescents, and young people.
