Africa-Press – Angola. The list headed by the former champion of the Southern Africa Region, Simão Muanda, is the only candidate for the election for the presidency of the Angolan Boxing Federation (FABOXE), which takes place on May 27, in Luanda.

The fact was advanced by the president of the Electoral Commission, for the next four years of his term in the sports institution, Adriano Nunes, who confirmed the legitimacy of the documentation presented by the candidate and signed by a provincial association of the modality.

For the also member of the Olympic Academy of Angola, Adriano Nunes, complying with all the legal requirements, with the opening and verification of the entire file, the only competing list, which has until the 25th of May to carry out the election campaign.

It should be recalled that in the electoral process for the 2020/24 four-year period, in which the previous cast chaired by Carlos Luís was re-elected, the Ministry of Youth and Sports was not recognized, due to alleged irregularities committed by the then Commission, such as the removal of the candidate from List B, the same Simão Muanda.

Thus, FABOXE was left without direction, forcing, recently, the associates to create, in an extraordinary assembly, an administrative and management commission, directed by José Mayamputo, which coordinated the entire process that reached the choice of the current electoral group.

As for Simão Muanda, a former three-time African champion boxer in Zone VI, in the 91 kg category, he was also secretary general of Team Elite, which dominated Angolan boxing for more than a decade.

After a successful career inside and outside the country, which began in the Republic of Cuba, Simão Muanda is currently dedicated to sports business, owning a factory of specialized equipment and materials.

The future president of FABOXE is also the owner of a High Performance Centre, located in Zango, in the municipality of Viana.
