Africa-Press – Angola. A service point for issuing passports was opened Wednesday in the municipality of Cacongo, northern Cabinda province, as part of bringing public services closer to communities.

Located in the village of Lândana, about 46 kilometers from the center of Cabinda, the post should also serve, in a first phase, the residents of Buco-Zau and Belize, who are waiting for facilities of the kind, according to the spokesperson for the Service of Migration and Foreigners (SME) in this locality, José Puna.

He explained that he will only deal with passports for national citizens, while foreigners should go to the SME department, in the city of Cabinda.

The opening of the post was witnessed, among others, by the provincial director of the institution, sub-commissioner for migration Diogo Baltazar.

To obtain a passport, citizens are subject, by law, to a payment of 30,500 kwanzas.
