Africa-Press – Angola. The “SonaJovem 5.0 Ideas that transform” project, which aims to stimulate entrepreneurial initiatives, was presented on Saturday, in Ndalatando (Cuanza-Norte), to local youth.
The initiative by state oil company Sonangol aims to boost 50 ideas from young Angolans and transform them into sustainable businesses, thus contributing to economic growth and national development.
It will support young people who want to undertake in the areas of information technology, renewable energy, industry, agriculture, environment, among others.According to Sebastião Ngombo, a member of the program, SonaJovem 5.0 constitutes Sonangol’s commitment to future generations.
He said that he will translate ideas into concrete actions that create opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship, as a necessary contribution to resolving challenges in the main areas covered by the project.
The axes covered by the project are economic diversification and sustainability, social development and inclusion, infrastructure and access to services, as well as training and employability.
The project’s objectives include the incubation of 50 Angolan startups, focused on developing innovative businesses that generate employment, diversity and economic growth.
The vice-governor of Cuanza-Norte for the Political, Economic and Social Sector, Constantina Machado, who witnessed the event, said that the project, an initiative of the Executive, constitutes an opportunity for young people to expand their businesses.
He called on local youth to believe in their potential, taking advantage of all the opportunities that the government provides to improve the living conditions of this fringe.
Registration for the project, launched in Luanda in December 2024, closes on February 28th.
