Africa-Press – Angola. The South African ambassador to Angola, Oupa Ephraim Monareng, learned, Wednesday, of the level of cooperation between the Queen Njinga A Mbande University (URNM) and its South African counterparts in Fort Hare and Limpopo
Information about exchanges between these universities, especially in the areas of food processing, research into medicinal plants, studies on the microbial profile of the surface waters of the rapids of the Kwanza River, were provided during a visit by the South African diplomat to the facilities of the Institute of Agro-food Technology (ITA), assigned to URNM.
Oupa Monareng, who began a four-day working visit to the province of Malanje, was also informed about the cooperation between the three universities regarding the creation of a specialization course in water and food quality and a master’s degree for teachers in literature and English language.
The rector of URNM, Eduardo Ekundi Valentim, considered the ambassador’s visit timely, at a time when the results of the strategic partnership between this institution and South African universities are already visible.
He revealed that three teachers will soon start master’s degrees in South Africa, two in English Literature at the University of Limpopo and one in Microbiology at the University of Fort Hare.
The South African ambassador was received in audience by the governor of Malanje, Marcos Nhunga, from whom he received explanations about the social and economic reality of the province and possible areas of investment.
For today, a visit to the former nursing training center in Camalundo, commune of Cota, municipality of Calandula, as well as tourist sites in the province, is planned.
The program also reserves, until Saturday, visits to the former camp of the African National Congress (ANC), in the municipality of Quela, to the former ANC reception centers in the municipality of Cacuso, in addition to agricultural projects in the province.
