Africa-Press – Angola. The growing integration of technologies into Angola’s industrial processes is a determining factor for those involved in economic diversification and the country’s development, according to the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ângelo João.
Speaking Thursday, in Luanda, at the 1st Angola Industrial Technology Forum, the government official emphasized that technological evolution and Artificial Intelligence (AI), in addition to representing automation, increased production levels, and efficiency, point the way for the development of the industrial park and the country’s potential for development.
For the Secretary of State, this Industrial Technology Forum represents a strategic platform to accelerate the technological modernization of industries located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), fostering an environment of innovation, dialogue, and the sharing of best practices. On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZEE, Manuel Pedro, said that this event aims to identify the ways and challenges of integrating technologies in the industrial sector, with the aim of increasing productivity, efficiency and quality in production processes.
On the sidelines of the forum, ZEE and MS-Telecom signed a protocol for the telecommunications service provider to boost connection network services in the industries located within this industrial perimeter.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the Board of Directors stated that ZEE has over 200 manufacturing units installed, of which 110 are fully operational and 90 are in the final stages of their respective operational launches within the next two years.
Meanwhile, Felisberta de Jesus, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of MS-Telecom, considered technology an inseparable element for industries to be more efficient and competitive.
“For this reason, we are partnering with ZEE so that the factories located there can enjoy the best technological conditions,” she emphasized.
Regarding the co-organization, she said that the forum aims to present MS-Telecom’s portfolio of technological solutions, as well as gather contributions, identify challenges, and discuss solutions to increase production through digital solutions and artificial intelligence.
Regarding the signing of the memorandum, ZEE-MS-Telecom stated that its objective is to launch infrastructure and expand technological services throughout the ZEE perimeter, specifically internet access, telephony, and data technical assistance, among others.
Promoted by ZEE EP, in partnership with MS-Telcom, the Forum brings together companies, experts, investors, and stakeholders from the industrial-technological ecosystem in a space for interaction and the development of transformative solutions.
In three panels, the more than 100 participating industrialists will discuss topics such as a demonstration of manual manufacturing processes/technological manufacturing processes using digital transformation, process digitalization and data management in production, the importance of digitalizing workflows, and data analysis to improve operational efficiency, among other topics.
