Africa-Press – Angola. Former National Team coach Pedro Gonçalves stated that his life story will be forever linked to Angola, something that fills him with pride, according to a post on his Instagram account.
In a recent farewell address, the Portuguese coach highlighted the highlights of his time with the “Palancas Negras,” considering it an admirable period in his life.
“Mission almost complete. An admirable period of my life has come to an end. I played over a hundred games representing a unique country, with a vibrant and generous people,” he wrote.Pedro Gonçalves particularly valued the years he spent with the players who left their all on the field and taught him so much. “Every training session, every match, every victory, and even every defeat was experienced with passion, dedication, and a spirit of resilience.”

The coach, who previously played for 1o de Agosto, also mentioned Côte d’Ivoire’s historic CAN campaign, with which they reached the quarterfinals, and their appearance at the U-17 World Cup.After terminating his contract with the FAF, some digital platforms are considering the interest of several African clubs in the coach, and they also admit that his replacement could be Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle, former assistant to Hervé Renard, the latter of whom previously led the Palancas Negras.
