Africa-Press – Angola. Misto do Uíge won Thursday, in Lubango, the 18th National Senior Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Championship, beating Bié, by 40-17, a feat that reaches for the third consecutive time.
The Uíge team beat the opponent with the partials 10-08, 22-11, 30-17 and 40-17.
The third place in the championship went to Escorpiões de Viana, who beat Misto do Cuanza Norte, by 42-33.
The Huíla team, which did not pass the group stage, was fifth in the overall standings.
Organized by the Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA), the competition brought together 12 teams, for seven days, in the city of Lubango.
The games were played at the Multipurpose Pavilion of Nossa Senhora do Monte, in the all-against-all system.
Other distinctions:
Best two-point scorer – Isaías Messo, from Misto do Uige, with 134 points
Best triplist – Manuel Jamba, from Misto da Huíla, with nine points
Best referee – António Camana
Best coach – Júlio Mendes from Misto do Uige
Breakthrough team – Misto do Namibe
MVP- Isaías Messo, Misto do Uíge
