Africa-Press – Angola. The National Women’s Under-16 Basketball Team qualified (Wednesday), in Monastir (Tunisia), for the semi-finals of the African Championship of the category (Afrobasket2023), by beating Uganda’s similar team, by 64 -58.
At half-time in the quarter-final match, played at Arena Salles Mohamed Mzali, Angola was 24-28 behind.
The Angolan player Ana Serviços stood out, once again, by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and six (6) assists.
Of this, the country’s team, which is led by coach Francisco Chauangue, will play, on Friday, against Egypt, for the semi-final.
The selections of Egypt, which defeated Rwanda, by an expressive 84-15, and Mali, which eliminated Guinea, by also decisive 142-15, also passed to the other phase.Morocco and Tunisia are playing.
As for the men, Angola, coached by coach Jaime Covilhã, faces Chad on Friday for the quarter-finals at 3.30 pm, while Morocco – Mali (15 hours), Côte d ́Ivoire – Guinea (18 hours) and Rwanda – Egypt (18 hours).
