Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the union of education, culture, sports and media workers in the province of Huambo, Adriano dos Santos, appealed this Thursday to members for greater dynamism, unity, creativity, activism, personality and audacity in union actions .
When speaking at the event commemorating the 27th anniversary of the institutionalization of the trade union body, which is celebrated, Adriano dos Santos, said that these qualities must be embraced, mainly, by young trade unionists, given the challenges and social dynamics.
According to the union leader, this dynamic must be followed in parallel with the restructuring and rejuvenation of union leaders, base and municipal structures in favor of the continuity of the organization.
“We have a crop of young people who need to be prepared, in order to continue with union activity”, said Adriano dos Santos during the event that took place in the municipal town of Ecunha, 46 kilometers from the city of Huambo.
He requested the involvement of all members in actions aimed at strengthening and improving the organization, with a focus on the common good.
Adriano dos Santos highlighted, among the gains made over the 27 years of existence, the creation of the Social Benefit Fund, which resulted in the construction of the union body’s clinic.
The union was formed on November 30, 1996, at the Comandante Bula school, in the city of Huambo.
