Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of UNITA in the municipality of Caála, Huambo province, Aquerino Mungula, defended Thursday, the need for a greater engagement of the local authorities in solving the socio-economic problems of the communities.

The politician, who was speaking at a press conference, said that the practical execution of socio-economic development projects was fundamental, through the implementation of a strategic plan to provide plausible contributions, for the improvement of the living conditions of the population.

He highlighted the need to requalify tertiary and secondary roads in the communes of Calenga, Catata and Cuima, with a view to facilitating the flow of agricultural products, increasing the number of teachers in rural communities and reinforcing medication in health centers and posts.

Aquerino Mungula, the implementation of self-sustainable projects and the promotion of practical programs to solve socio-economic problems emerged, to allow the substantial fight against poverty in the communities.

He also pointed to the implementation of feasible public policies that could respond to the concerns of the population.

UNITA is the second most voted party after the MPLA in the municipality of Caála, located 23 kilometers west of the city of Huambo.
