Africa-Press – Angola. UNITA formalized, this Thursday, its availability for an open dialogue on issues of common interest with the MPLA Parliamentary Group.

As informed by the president of the UNITA parliamentary group, Liberty Chiaka, who was speaking at a press conference, UNITA sent a communication to the management of the MPLA Parliamentary Group expressing its availability for this dialogue, in response to the challenge launched by the party in power .

The politician informed that his party identified ten major issues for open dialogue with the MPLA Parliamentary Group and that in time they will be made public.

He emphasized that Angola needs to recover the dream of freedom, dignity, prosperity and happiness, urging political, social and spiritual leaders to make this dream come true.

“The UNITA Parliamentary Group registered, with satisfaction and patriotic responsibility, the appeal made by the MPLA Parliamentary Group for the need to dialogue, in an open way, for the construction of the country of all of us (…)”, he stressed. Legislative

initiatives The National Assembly (AN) will consider and vote, on the 25th of this month, in general, the Draft Law on Freedom of Assembly and Demonstration, a legislative initiative by the Parliamentary Group of UNITA. The leader of the UNITA Parliamentary Group considered it positive that the MPLA had unblocked the discussion of this bill.

According to the rationale, the draft law aims to respond to an imperative of democracy and to allow a truly effective implementation of the rule “Freedom of Assembly and Demonstration” of Article 47 of the Constitution. He refers that the approval of the law in question will

consolidate , in fact, the constitutional transition to the democratic regime initiated in 1991 and will create practical and effective mechanisms

for the effective exercise of fundamental rights and for the consequent implementation of the Constitution and affirmation of the democratic rule of law. in the coming days to the National Assembly, in an updated form, another bill on the Exercise of the Right of Democratic Opposition.

According to Liberty Chiaka, within the framework of the de-partisanship of the State, the Parliamentary Group of UNITA will send to Parliament another Bill on Incompatibilities in the Exercise of Public Offices.

“We believe that it will be positive that this project, despite being a UNITA initiative, is also embraced by the MPLA Parliamentary Group and other political forces with parliamentary representation, for the democratization of our State”, he stressed.
