Africa-Press – Angola. 1.o de Agosto will meet Petro de Luanda again in the final of the Unitel Basket National Senior Men’s Basketball Championship, three years later, after defeating Interclube on Saturday, thanks to a 100-85 victory, at the Cidadela Gymnastics Pavilion, in the fifth and final game of the semi-final play-off. The decision of the 47th edition of the biggest basketball competition, in the play-off series of the best of seven games, will start on Wednesday, at 6:00 pm, at the Cidadela Pavilion with the oil workers as hosts.
After a tie with two wins for each side, in the final, the military had as their main worker the winger Marcelo João, who finished the game with 21 points. At half-time, 1.o de Agosto were winning 47-34, with Interclube trying to recover, but lacking offensive directness.
Lazare Adingono’s players were more consistent in all aspects, and did not consider the possibility of being left out of the final, after giving their all. At the end of the match, there was celebration on one side and despondency on the other.
