Africa-Press – Angola. The United States of America (USA) reaffirmed, this Friday, the continuous support to the Angolan government and people, in the promotion of peace and stability in the region and in the reinforcement of democratic institutions.
The US commitment is expressed in a message from President Joe Binden, published on the White House’s official website, regarding the celebration of the 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which marks yesterday.
Alongside the eradication of corruption and the formation of an inclusive political process in Angola, continues the document, the two States are working to face the challenges of climate change, reinforce peace, prosperity and cooperation throughout the Atlantic region .
According to the note, Angola and the United States are expanding economic cooperation through additional investments through partnerships in quality and sustainable infrastructure and global investments that connect Angola to global markets.
“I look forward to the deepening of the partnership between our nations, and the friendship between our peoples, as we forge a better future,” reads President Joe Biden’s message.
Angola is the third largest US trading partner in sub-Saharan Africa, mainly due to oil exports. The two countries cooperate in various areas, with emphasis on trade, finance, energy, manufacturing, security, health and justice.
