Africa-Press – Angola. The Chairman of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAAND), José Amaral Júnior “Maninho”, was received by the vice-governor of the province of Benguela for the Economic and Social sector, Cátia Cachuco, with whom he discussed issues related to the “Expo-Andebol`2025 – O Caminho das Pérolas” (The Pearls Path).

During the meeting, held over the weekend, the federation leader, accompanied by the vice-president Teresa Ulundo “Chinha” and the former handball player Maura Faial, requested institutional support for the event that will take place in Benguela, during the celebrations of the 408th anniversary of this province, to be celebrated on 17 May.

The event, is a photography exhibition resulting from a partnership between former handball players and FAAND, will also be held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Independence, to be marked on 11 November, according to a note from the federation published on its Facebook page.

The document states that the focus of the event is to make new generations and society in general aware of the glorious trajectory of the Angolan women’s handball team also known as “The Pearls”, as well as to pay tribute to the protagonists who have made their mark since their first participation in the African Championships to date.

In addition to Benguela, “Expo-Andebol`2025 – The Path of the Pearls” will be on display in Namibe and Luanda, and the exhibition may reach other provinces of the country in 2026.
