Africa-Press – Angola. The Vinevala farm, located in the municipality of Chinguar, Bié province, could win, later this year, a wheat flour transformation factory, with the capacity to produce 30 tons/day, Tuesday .
The information was provided by the owner of the farm, Alfeu Vinevala, on the sidelines of the act that marked the beginning of the wheat harvest, cultivated in an area of 3,000 hectares, where a harvest of close to 10,000 tons is expected.
Without revealing the cost of the project, he assured that the machines, already purchased, could arrive in the country at any time.
In another aspect, the farmer informed that, in addition to wheat, the farm also produced maize, beans, soy, peas, pineapple, reindeer potatoes, in a global investment of four million US dollars.
In the current 2022/2023 agricultural campaign, it has 30 hectares of peas, against 10 in the previous season, with the forecast of harvesting 1,600 kilos per hectare, while for pineapple it reserved an area of 40 hectares, against 12 last year .
He added that for the production of corn, the farm has an area of 200 hectares, to harvest more than two thousand tons.
He added that the farm expects to acquire, this year, 10 tractors and respective implements, to reinforce the seven existing ones and, with this, increase production levels.
Speaking at the event, the administrator of Chinguar, Ângela Ucueianga, reiterated all the support needed to encourage an increase in agricultural production in the municipality, with emphasis on wheat, maize, reindeer potatoes, beans and radishes.
With 3,54 square kilometres, the municipality of Chinguar, one of the nine that make up the province of Bié, has over 299 inhabitants, mostly peasants.
