The data was released this Wednesday by the chairman of the institution’s Board of Directors, Adolfo Elias Gomes, stating that the increase in revenue resulted, in addition to the reinforcement of home connections, from the intensification of inspection and consumer awareness campaigns..
He said it was the result of these campaigns and other ongoing strategies that the company currently registered 98 thousand 238 connections, of which 64 thousand 366 are already customers, 17 thousand 641 more compared to 2022.
He explained that the revenues resulted from the turnover, in 2023, of one billion, 208 million, 74 thousand 781 Kwanzas, compared to one billion, 49 million, 565 thousand 409 in the same previous period.
He regretted the fact that many customers, including individuals, public and private companies, still do not have the culture of paying their water consumption obligations, which has made specific interventions in the water distribution network and acquisition of water supply material difficult. current use.
In terms of operational expenses, namely chemical products, acquisition of equipment, payment of salaries and others, he announced that KZ one billion, 386 million, 973 thousand 742 were spent.
He referred to a higher value of revenue collected, which was only possible to settle with the support provided by the Central Government and a capital fund made available by the Ministry of Finance of one billion, 97 million, 488 thousand 467 Kwanzas.
Adolfo Elias Gomes added that this support also improved the company’s image, acquired five vehicles, uniforms, chemicals and settled debts related to electricity.
It also allowed EPASH to produce, in 2023, a total of 14 million, 655 thousand and 805 cubic meters of water, which resulted in a distribution of 13 million, 595 thousand 605 m3 in the municipalities of Caála (+ Fernando Faustino Muteka centrality) , Ecunha and Huambo (+ centrality of Lossambo).
To leverage the company’s revenues and cover operational costs, the strategy was to continue campaigns to mobilize customers to pay the debt accumulated since 2012, valued at one billion 600 million Kwanzas, in addition to actions to reduce the vandalization of equipment.
The manager informed that the Halavala centrality (Bailundo) was incorporated into the system in addition to the activation, soon, of six thousand home connections in the Aviação, Cambiote, Cavongue, Macolocolo and Santa Teresa neighborhoods, which will increase the company’s revenue.
The public company of Water and Sanitation of Huambo, currently operating in the municipalities of Bailundo, Caála, Ecunha and Huambo, has 401 workers in the administrative, commercial and technical areas.
