Africa-Press – Angola. Mozambique’s coach, Nilton Manheira, stated Monday, in Luanda, that his team will have an “aggressive” offensive stance in the game against Angola, at 6 pm on Tuesday, to obtain a second victory and qualification to Afrobaslet`2025.
Speaking at the press conference, after the first game of the zone VI tournament, played at the Cidadela pavilion, in which his team won 50-44, he stated that the athletes showed lack of concentration, but that they then concentrated throughout the challenge.
Nilton Manheira said that his team was aware of the difficulties facing a strong Angola and playing in front of their home crowd, but that his team still believed and achieved the first objective.
On the other hand, the captain of the Mozambican team, Ingvild Mucauro, was optimistic about qualifying for this year’s Afrobasket in Côte d`Ivoire, despite being aware of the difficulties.
The athlete, who has already played for 1.° de Agosto and Interclube, acknowledged that she had knowledge of how Angolan women play, but that it was still difficult.
The two teams will face each other again at 6 pm on Tuesday, in the same pavilion, for the second and final clash to qualify the representative from zone VI for the African event.
