Africa-Press – Angola. The first factory to transform wheat into flour in the central and southern region of Angola, with capacity to produce 60 tons/day, has already started operating on an experimental basis, in the municipality of Chinguar, Bié province.

Owned by farmer Alfeu Vinevala, the manufacturing unit is located on the premises of the Logistics and Distribution Center (CLOD) at the municipal headquarters.

According to Alfeu Vinevala, who did not reveal the value used, all raw materials for transforming wheat into flour are produced on the Vinevala farm.

He said that the factory could start up, 100 percent, in September 2024, at which point he hopes to also place the pasta, bakery and seed processing factories, to join the corn industry, already in operation.

He pointed out that, by September of next year, five thousand direct and indirect jobs could be reached on every farm, compared to nearly four thousand currently, judging also by the increase in wheat fields to be prepared.

Alfeu Vinevala therefore requested the Government to install an electrical energy Transformation Station (PT) in this CLOD area, to enable industries to work regularly.

He also stated that, in the current agricultural season, the farm plans to cultivate five thousand 200 hectares of wheat, two thousand more compared to the last season.

The idea, according to him, is to double the previous harvest, where the figure of 10 thousand tons of wheat was reached.

Farm produces more than 18 thousand tons of various products

During the last agricultural season, the Vinevala farm produced more than 18 thousand tons of various products, with emphasis on 10 thousand tons of wheat, 500 tons of corn and 200 tons of beans. They also add soybeans, peas, tomatoes, pineapple and reindeer potatoes.

Vinevala points out benefits of the memorandum with FADA

Alfeu Vinevala highlighted the memorandum signed last week between the Support Fund for Agricultural Development (FADA) with the companies Agreement, Vinevala and Paulei, which will benefit from financing of one billion and 300 million kwanzas, to assist 210 families in the areas in which they are located.

With this value, these farms, considered robust, will commit to mechanization, training of local peasants, flow of agricultural products, transfer of land, increase in agricultural production, as well as sharing experiences with new producers and beyond.

Furthermore, he considered the financing that the Executive has been providing in the agriculture sector to be positive, especially in the province of Bié, which has allowed above-average production to be achieved.
