Africa-Press – Angola. The Wholesale Price Index (IPG) in the country rose to 1.66 percent from May to June this year, an increase of 0.40% compared to the previous period and 0.51 percentage points lower compared to the same period of the year 2022.
According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the year-on-year change in June stood at 15.58%, registering a drop of 11.64 percentage points in relation to that observed in the same period of the previous year.
According to the document, the trend of year-on-year variation in the last three years until March is increasing, reversing its direction from April 2022.
INE indicates that during the month of June 2023, the prices of national products increased by 2.29% compared to the month of May, with Section D – Manufacturing Industries having the highest price increase with 2.32%.
The products that had the greatest price variation in this group were gasoline with 79.54%, powdered milk with 3.21%, roasted coffee with 3.16%, butter with 3.14%, corn flour with 3.08% , smoked catfish with 2.93%, soybean oil with 2.78%.
The list also includes wheat flour with 2.69%, dried mackerel fish with 2.53%, bar soap with 2.48%, pork with 2.44%, frozen croaker with 2.30% , wine with 2.24%, brandy with 2.18%, offal with 2.00%, frozen horse mackerel with 1.68%, beer with 1.61% and frozen cachucho with 1.57%.
