Africa-Press – Angola. The public higher education sector has benefited from US$150 million in funding from the World Bank, with a view to its revitalization, the president of the Association of Students of Private Universities of Angola (AEUPA) revealed on Monday in Luanda. Nilton Tima assured that a process of harmonizing content for students in a single training area is underway. Despite being from different institutions, they have equivalent skills. “Even if there is no uniformity between institutions, it is necessary for the training standard to be common”.
The president of AEUPA said that there are currently 64 private higher education institutes, 11 private universities and one private college in the country. “This year, private higher education institutions took up 85 percent of the places, compared to 15 percent allocated to public education”, he highlighted.
Between 2020 and 2025, he stressed, approximately 25 percent of higher education students dropped out of school.
