Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan writer Domingas Monte launched and autographed, this Thursday, in Luanda, her third children’s literary work entitled “Kyese”, under the seal of Mayamba publishing house.

With 71 pages, to be sold at a price of five thousand kwanzas, the book portrays various situations, with emphasis on the floating forest that hovered above the village, the maboque tree that bears fruit at all times of the year and Kyese, main character, who has special abilities.

Kyese was chosen by the spirits of his ancestors for something great that was the salvation of his village, because at a given moment it found itself in a situation of death, caused by a strange phenomenon that no one could explain.

Speaking to the press, Domingas Monte said that the work brings texts on the history of Angola, traditions, cultures and the proper names of places and people.

He explained that before this work, he had another story to write whose title would be “The Floating Maboqueiro”, but over time he chose to change it to “Kyese”, due to the twists and turns that this character had throughout the texts.

He stressed that with the book, adults can learn that children should be given freedom to express their abilities and minors to know how to express their abilities in a good way and become heroes.

With this book, the writer adds her fourth literary work and third turning to children and youth.

Domingas Monte was born in 1982, in the province of Uíge, and has a degree in African Languages and Literature, from the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences, of the Agostinho Neto University.
