Africa-Press – Botswana. On 14 November 2025, the Minister of Minerals and Energy, Honourable Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, delivered a keynote address at the Keshrimal Ghisilal Kothari (KGK) Diamonds Botswana graduation ceremony in Gaborone.
The Minister congratulated the graduates for their accomplishments and commended KGK for its sustained contribution to Botswana’s diamond sector. She noted that the KGK Academy Botswana continues to offer one of the most effective industry-related training programs, producing graduates who are fully employable within the downstream diamond industry.
Minister Kenewendo highlighted the significance of KGK’s commitment to workforce development and inclusivity. She specifically praised the company’s establishment of the only on-site daycare facility in the diamond industry. This initiative allows young mothers to balance their careers and family responsibilities, ensuring that women can remain active participants in the workforce. The Minister described the facility as a pioneering example of progressive corporate responsibility.
The Minister further emphasized the role of industry training in strengthening Botswana’s position in the global diamond market. She acknowledged that initiatives like KGK’s not only equip graduates with technical skills but also contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of the sector.
