Africa-Press – Cape verde. The team of Travadores (Praia) won yesterday, for the first time, a national football game, by defeating Santo Crucifixo by 1-0, in a game that took place at the João Serra stadium, in Ponta do Sol, Santo Antão.
The Travadores goal, the only one of the match, would come in the second half, in the 71st minute, by the foot of the newly entered Sérgio.
The goal allowed the winning of the first three points in this competition for the team from the capital.
In the end, quoted by Inforpress, Janito Carvalho, coach of Travadores, said that, as he had predicted, the game would be “quite difficult” with his players playing under “a lot of pressure” to win the match.
“We were lucky and we took advantage of our opportunity and from that moment on my players gave everything on the field and congratulations are due”, he emphasized.
Competitive match – coach of Santo Crucifixo
In turn, the coach of Santo Crucifixo, Palela, admitted that it was a “very competitive” match and that his team was playing a “good game” until, according to him, the referee “ decided to change the course of the game”.
According to him, the Travadores goal came from a corner kick that, in his view, was a goal kick.
“The goal had an influence on the game, that is, they scored a goal in a move that was ours. Now it’s time to lift your head and keep working”, he emphasized.
Everything open in the “death” group
With this result in the “death group” everything remains open.
Mindelense takes the lead, isolated, with five points, followed by Santo Crucifixo and Juventude with four points and Travadores with three points.
