Africa-Press – Cape verde. The “rubbish revolution” in Praia municipality will begin within a month, according to the mayor, Francisco Carvalho, who told to Inforpress that the council wants to do “the best that is done in the world.
“Within a month at the latest we will have that revolution. We will have that first phase, we want to move to a level of the best that is done in the world, which is waste separation, recycling and reuse. We want to move towards that. And within a month, we will have the foundations in place in terms of routes, collection teams, awareness campaigns and partner involvement,” he said.
Also in the interview to Inforpress, Carvalho said that some of the six trucks that arrived in December are already operating the waste collection service, after a period of preparation and training of their operators.
