Situation of African communities in Cabo Verde is peaceful although there are aspects of discrimination – responsible

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the Platform of African Communities in Cabo Verde said today in Praia that the situation of communities in the country is peaceful although there are still some aspects of discrimination against emigrants from ECOWAS countries.

Viana was speaking to Inforpress as part of World Africa Day, an annual celebration of the dynamism of the African continent on the anniversary of the founding of the Organisation of African Unity, now the African Union, on 25 May.

“The situation of African communities in Cabo Verde is currently peaceful, there are no major constraints in terms of social inclusion, although there are still some aspects of discrimination in relation to people from ECOWAS states,” he said.

According to him, the communities are having more and more access to the services, although they still have to deal with misinformation, lack of reception or attention in the services, which in his opinion constitute a challenge that the organisation is willing to contribute to face.
