Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of the Sea, Abraão Vicente, called today, in Mindelo, for a “broad reflection” on the maritime transport concession contract now superimposed by the national Maritime Code approved in Parliament and recently entered into force
Abraão Vicente made the appeal during the presentation of the Cape Verdean Maritime Code, in a book, and which resulted, he assured, from “quite robust” work by the team and contributions of the deputies in parliament.
According to the official, the diploma, now in book format, contains 872 articles with several paragraphs that “radically” alter the configuration of the maritime authority, clarify the role of the Maritime and Port Institute (IMP), of shipowners, and clarify all aspects and details of navigation and maritime safety in Cabo Verde.
That same law, says Abraão Vicente, also clarifies all the aspects in which the maritime transport contract is “missing”.
