Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Presidency of the Republic announced this Monday the postponement of the edition of the “Presidency on the Island” initiative in São Nicolau, alleging difficulties in transport to the island. However, TACV disputed this justification today, stating that it had managed to secure the tickets requested before the decision to postpone.
The visit by José Maria Neves was scheduled to take place between 17 and 22 March, but was rescheduled for the period from 31 March to 5 April.
According to the Presidency, the postponement was due to the lack of guarantees of transport for the entire delegation during the trip.
In response, TACV clarified that the initial difficulty faced by the Presidency occurred when trying to confirm the return of São Nicolau to São Vicente through a travel agency.
However, after being contacted directly, the airline ensured that it was able to secure the necessary seats on March 14.
The company states that, on the same day, when confirming the availability of tickets with the Civil House of the Presidency, it received information that the visit had already been postponed.
