Fogo EPEC Enhances Technical Capacity and Energy Stability

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verde Electricity Production Company (EPEC), Fogo delegation, announced this Wednesday the normalization of electricity supply on the island, with the base generators fully operational.

In a statement released today, which Inforpress had access to, EPEC stressed that this stabilization constitutes an “important step in improving the reliability and security of the electrical system” in Fogo.

To reinforce the technical reserve of the João Pinto single power plant, EPEC received on Tuesday, the 4th, a new containerized generator with a capacity of 1,500 kVA, which will be integrated into the support system, aiming to guarantee “greater stability and continuity” in the supply, the same source revealed.

In parallel, the company began the process of acquiring and installing a second new generator, of 2,000 kVA, destined for the island’s single power plant, thus reinforcing the island’s energy infrastructure.

EPEC reiterated that these actions demonstrate its “commitment to the quality and continuity of public energy service,” seeking to ensure “confidence and peace of mind for families, businesses, and institutions in Fogo.”
