Africa-Press – Cape verde. The General Directorate of Registries, Notaries and Identification (DGRNI) announced today that, despite the strike scheduled for Monday the 17th, 18th and 19th, minimum services will be guaranteed, namely death registrations and other acts considered essential to avoid serious harm to the public.
According to the statement, the strike may cause limitations in public service, as most services will not be available during the strike period.
Nevertheless, the DGRNI guarantees that essential services will be provided, as well as the security of the facilities and the maintenance of equipment.
The secretariat recommends that users who need services not included in the minimum service schedule reschedule their appointments for dates after the end of the strike.
It is worth noting that after a conciliation meeting held on Thursday, the 13th, involving the Association of Workers in Registries, Notaries and Civil and Criminal Identification (Astranic), the Ministry of Justice, the General Directorate of Registries and the General Directorate of Labor, no agreement was reached.
If the strike does not produce the expected results, the union promises to maintain pressure on the Government, demanding that it “assume its responsibilities” and resolve the outstanding issues related to promotions and career advancement for registry and notary workers.
