Africa-Press – Cape verde. Certified grogue produced in Santo Antão will be present for the third consecutive year at the World Rum Forum, whose next edition will take place from February 11th to 13th in Paris, France.
The website www.mondialdurhum.com has released the program for the 2026 edition of the World Rum Forum, which, in addition to showcasing brands from various countries around the world, will also include ten conferences that will discuss, among other topics, the impact of climate change on sugarcane cultivation.
This global event will bring together three thousand participants, including producers, distributors, buyers, influencers, and policymakers from around the world, who will also reflect on the economy and exports and how to ensure the competitiveness of rum in world markets.
In recent years, the island of Santo Antão has actively participated in this event with its certified grogue, whose quality has been recognized worldwide.
Alírio Rocha, the producer of grogue from Santo Antão and owner of the Quinta Mansa brand (Ribeira Grande), has been the face of Santo Antão’s presence at the World Rum Forum.
In recent statements to Inforpress, this producer assures that he is preparing for another participation, his third, in this world rum exhibition.
In the 2024 edition, Cape Verde was represented solely by the Quinta Mansa brand, and in this year, 2025 (February), the country is once again present at the event with the brands Quinta Mansa, Grogue de São Nicolau, and 11.11 (Santiago).
