Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Acrides (Association of Children and Adolescents of Agrides) intends to expand its support network for children, placing families at the center of its actions through the “Family in Focus” project, the organization’s president declared today.
Lourença Tavares made this announcement to Inforpress, outlining the activity plans for 2026 and the actions implemented in 2025.
He said the goal is to have greater family participation so they can talk and try to understand their children’s behavior, “knowing how to act in the best way,” since “education begins at home.”
In addition to creating the family network, the same source highlighted the impact of the “Send me a photo” campaign, which emphasizes the importance of the internet and its risks to children.
Lourença Tavares said the campaign had “a great impact” on the child ambassadors, considering it “worth it,” given the importance of the topic and the attention it drew to the dangers of its misuse.
He stated that for this new year, the intention is to continue with the project, expanding it even further to other children.
Similarly, he praised the participation and communication skills of the children who participated in the campaign, considering 2025 a year of achievements, with the implementation of other projects supporting children.
“We had the participation of children who came from Portugal and Guinea-Bissau, in a partnership with the NGO ECPAT, from Luxembourg, which funds us,” mentioned the president.
He added that, despite some limitations, Acrides has relied on international and national partnerships, which has made it possible to implement the projects, something they aim to continue in 2026.
