Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cultural Village space in the city of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, currently in a state of abandonment, may soon undergo rehabilitation works as part of a project announced by the city hall.
According to Inforpress, cultural agents in Porto Novo have been insistently warning about the situation of this cultural infrastructure, demanding the recovery of this space to serve the culture of Porto Novo.
In response to the concerns of cultural facilitators in the municipality of Porto Novo, the city hall informed that it is preparing a rehabilitation project for the cultural village with a view to preparing this space “for a new and desired cultural, artistic, tourist and economic dynamic” in this municipality.
“Soon, our Cultural Village will undergo rehabilitation works, where in addition to improving the entire existing space, it will also house a larger and more modern playground,” informed the city hall, reassuring cultural agents.
The state of degradation of this space has been a cause for concern among residents who have been demanding its recovery and enhancement.
