Africa-Press – Cape verde. Boa Vista City Council announced today the start of renovation works on the Sal-Rei Municipal Market to modernize and revitalize the city’s “important” shopping center.
According to the publication made on the municipality’s Facebook page, the intervention, which represents a “substantial investment”, promises to revolutionize the structure and conditions of the market, providing a new experience for both traders and customers.
Among the main changes, an expansion of the existing space will be made, a complete replacement of the interior floors and roof, as well as the demolition of the old counters, new bathrooms, a butcher’s shop and two kiosks will be built, in addition to painting both the exterior and interior of the building.
The requalification plans also include the installation of new stainless steel equipment, to contribute to improving the market’s hygiene and sanitary conditions.
According to the local authority, the “effort” aims to adapt the space to modern demands and make the environment more attractive and welcoming for all users, and they believe that these improvements will not only benefit traders, with better working conditions, but will also offer customers a more pleasant and functional environment.
With this intervention, the local authority “hopes to promote more dynamic and efficient trade, reflecting the commitment to modernization and continuous improvement of public services”.
