Africa-Press – Cape verde. The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the City Hall of Brava welcome the sustainable grazing project presented by Biflores and undertake to engage in its implementation.
Speaking to the press, after a meeting organized by Biflores for a first presentation of the project and collection of ‘inputs’ for the elaboration of the implementation of the project that aims to improve the living conditions of the creators. In addition, to protect the endemic biodiversity of the island, both institutions considered this project to be a “commendable initiative” committing themselves to join efforts for its implementation.
Ermelindo Barros, MAA delegate at Brava, congratulated Biflores for the initiative. He stressed that the delegation will engage all the necessary efforts to support the implementation of this project and the elaboration of the plan, since the institution has its environmental task and the presented project that is still in the analysis phase, and aims to work on the issue of participatory planning and management of the pasture.
“The objective is to improve pastoral subsistence, and the MAA delegation will engage in this project with great optimism”, said this official, noting that the MAA has been working on the issue of promoting sustainable grazing with technical assistance, infrastructure and mapping of the areas where free grazing is practiced.
