Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Press of Cape Verde has a new headquarters and a document security printing shop, with the inauguration of the building located in the Achada Grande Frente area today.
The National Press of Cape Verde (INCV) will now produce personalized security documents, including passports and the National Identification Card (CNI).
The unveiling of the plaque at the headquarters of the National Press of Cape Verde (INCV) was carried out by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, and by the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the National Press of Cape Verde, Raimundo Lopes.
On the occasion, the PCA highlighted the importance of the construction of the new INCV space and the progress made in the production of security documents in the country.
“The culmination of this major project not only raises the standard of capabilities of the Cape Verdean National Press, but above all reaffirms our commitment to a crucial aspect of sovereignty, which is the autonomy and document security of Cape Verde”, said the Chairman of the Board, Raimundo Lopes.
He added that the Cape Verdean National Press is now “prepared to personalise, with quality and security, documents” such as the Cape Verdean passport, National Identification Card, Residence Permit, Single Vehicle Document, Driving License, Identification Cards for high-ranking officials and officials, among others.
An investment that, he pointed out, amounts to around 473 thousand contos, and around 330 thousand contos related to the construction and remodelling of the new space, made by the National Press with “its own capital, supplemented by bank financing in the amount of 253 thousand contos”.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, also highlighted the importance of the National Press and the advances achieved to date, highlighting that the INCV now produces to the same international standard and with “high levels of security and technology”.
“This inauguration is a commitment to the execution of the Government’s program that is being implemented. Cape Verde is now equipped with a technologically advanced security printing press, capable of working to high standards”, stated the Prime Minister.
A technological advance that, according to him, has to do with the “reduction or even possible elimination” of the risks of counterfeiting and fraud.
